A Tiny Revolution in Accounting

Get a Weird notice from the IRS requesting your bank account?

1.  Take a deep breath.  IRS notices even when they are nothing burgers still trigger a primal fight or flight reaction.
 2.  Remember, the IRS never, Never, NEVER calls or emails you.
3.  Don’t scan any QR Codes.
4.  Offloading this stress to GGT is part of what you pay for.  You get a notice, you bring it to our attention.   You follow these steps and we will get through this.    This latest round of IRS Notice  CP53E is quite confusing, but harmless.  The IRS is attempting to modernize and as part of that, trying to phase out checks, in favor of electronic payments.  What’s hilarious is we’ve had clients who were set for direct debit of their balances due receive these notices.  Essentially, it seems as if anyone not set for direct deposit of refund will be carpet bombed with this notice.  Good times.  Breathe deep.  Repeat steps 1-4.  We got this.

We have recently upgraded our technology portfolio and are no longer using the Canopy Client Portal.
